Taking inspiration from fab brand Stella McCartney, I recently updated one of my old faithful cozy jumpers with some sparkly crystal embellishments. It’s amazing how with a couple of tweaks, items can seem almost like new again! You can buy pre-made embellishments, however I decided to make my own using clear beads, pearls and neon stones. The result is a fashionably updated jumper that can be paired with a flare skirt for a contemporary urban look.
What you need:
- Crystal embellishments
- Needle & thread
- If you’re making your own embellishments, take a flat-based panel and using contact adhesive, glue the beads, pearls and neon stones onto it. Leave to dry.
- Take your embellishments and using the needle and thread, sew them along the collar of the jumper.
I’ve gone quite demure with this jumper however, you could easily continue adding embellishments all down the front of the jumper and not just limit it to collar detailing. Or, you can temporarily embellish a jumper using rhinestone brooches, if you do though, make sure the brooches aren’t too heavy otherwise you could end up with some unwanted holes in the fabric.
