Feel like channeling your inner Hells Angel? Then this DIY will be right up your street. I’m sure I’m not the only one that hates that feeling when you go out and see at least five other people sporting your same outfit or wearing the same piece of jewellery. Whilst it is not totally unavoidable, I’d like to think that DIYing makes this situation a little less common. That being said, I do love my high-street shopping. However, I don’t love finding a gorgeous piece that I already know four of my friends own. So, desperate times call for some DIYing.
I fell in love with this statement Cord & Feather necklace from high-street giant Zara and immediately knew I wanted to put my own twist on it. So, using the same knotting technique I’ve previously used on this Proenza Schouler-inspired Cord Necklace, I added in the obligatory heavy chain and metal.
The melange of cord, chain and feathers exudes biker-chic style, inspired by the Arizona desert and I am loving it. Paired with a oversize white blouse and denim cutoffs or contrasting with a sleek LBD, this necklace makes the exact kind of statement that I love to project “Get out of my way, I’m fabulous!” This is definitely one DIY to give a go for yourselves.
Happy DIYing!
xoxo V.
