I came across an awesome shop in Sham Shui Po where I’m now able to find a beautiful and extensive mix of different semi-precious stones, pearls and beads (Lap Sun Gem Company – 247 Yu Chau St, Sham Shui Po). Anyone who knows me, who’s read this blog or indeed followed me on Instagram will know how much of a magpie I can be. My achilles heel would definitely be my penchant for bracelets, bangles, cuffs and other general arm candy – oh yes, I can’t resist an arm party! To the extent that I recently went on holiday and it’s safe to say I pissed off a bunch of people standing behind me because of the sheer amount of time it took me to remove every piece from my wrists. Oops! Oh well, lesson learnt – when travelling: don’t stack up before the security checks!
It’s so simple to make these types of bracelets, honestly, other than the different types of stone beads, all you need is fishing wire, clam-shell bead tips and clasps. So, go nuts! These bracelets are so versatile and are a great addition to the arm party. I used a mix of coin purse pearls, jade, turquoise, tigers eye, onyx and leopard spot jasper, but there is so so much more choice than just these!
Ps – I can’t seem to resist evil eye beads or pendants at the moment. Aren’t they just fab!?
Happy DIYing!
