DIY Coin Bracelet

This is another DIY project that would fall under the “impulse purchase” category. During a recent trip to this hidden gem of a store in the Jardine’s Bazaar lanes in Causeway Bay – it was full of buttons, ribbons, some fabric, thread, sewing gear….but…the buttons, oh the buttons…I was like a kid in a candy store! Anyway, just as I was leaving the store, I found these awesome coin style buttons that are totally military-style, which is perfect for transitioning into autumn – I had to have them. This type of DIY would work with most buttons so even if heavy metals and military-inspired fashion isn’t your style, you can easily make it work for whatever your personal style is.

What you need:

  • 12 coin buttons
  • Elastic clear fishing wire
  • Scissors

How to:

  1. Cut a length of elastic – just slightly longer than the circumference of your wrist.
  2. Thread the buttons onto the elastic.
  3. Tightly tie a double knot in the elastic – make sure that it’s taught on your wrist as the elastic will stretch.

And there you go – it doesn’t take any time to make and yet looks seriously cool. Anyone can try out this DIY – especially if you’re just starting to craft, it’s a great beginners project with fab results!

I can’t wait to stack this alongside all the other arm candy I own! Magpie-alert!

Happy DIYing!
